The ASOPRS Oculofacial Plastic Surgery Education Center

The American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS) welcomes you to the Oculofacial Plastic Surgery Education Center.

The Education Center has been formatted as a compendium of current reference outlines, to provide readily available information for the active practitioner or student of oculofacial plastic and reconstructive surgery. It is not meant to be an exhaustive reference source but to stimulate further study in each subject. Members of ASOPRS produced all sections of this center, and ASOPRS is grateful for the contributions of the authors and editors.

Lora R. Dagi Glass, MD, Editor-in-Chief

Dr. Glass completed her oculofacial plastic surgery training at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary after completing her residency at Columbia University Irving Medical Center. Following fellowship, she returned to Columbia as faculty. In addition to serving as Division Director, Dr. Glass is Director of Medical Student Education in Ophthalmology and Associate Residency Program Director. She also serves on the ASOPRS Education Committee and on the AUPO Wellness Committee.

Edward J. Wladis, MD, FACS

Dr. Wladis completed his oculofacial plastic surgery training at the University of Pennsylvania after attending Columbia University and the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. He is currently ophthalmology department chair and program director for the ASOPRS-accredited oculofacial plastic surgery fellowship at Albany Medical College in New York. Dr. Wladis has served on the Education and Thesis Committees for ASOPRS.

Simeon A. Lauer, MD

Dr. Lauer completed his residency in ophthalmology at Albert Einstein College of Medicine Montefiore Medical Center and his fellowship in oculoplastic surgery at Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans. He previously served as the Secretary of Education on the Executive Committee for ASOPRS and was instrumental in the creation and implementation of the Education Center.

Robert G. Fante, MD, FACS

Dr. Fante completed his oculofacial plastic surgery training at the University of Michigan after attending Boston University and the University of Arizona. He is presently in private practice in Denver and is on the volunteer faculty for the ASOPRS fellowship at the University of Colorado. Dr. Fante serves on the board of directors for OMIC, several AAO committees, and as President of ASOPRS. He was instrumental in the creation and development of the Education Center.
